Design-integrated audio and video, also known as “stealth” a/v, is a fast emerging segment of the home entertainment market. Well concealed or even invisible approaches to integrating technology are minimizing the visual impact on a space while retaining surprisingly good quality.

You’re not hearing things. One of the easiest ways to go stealth is to use in-wall, in-ceiling, or behind-the-wall speakers! (seen at right). The latest in-wall and in-ceiling solutions come in a variety of sizes, offer flush mounting, and have minimal or almost no trim to intrude into the room. Paint them to further reduce their visibility.
Behind the wall speakers are designed to blend into standard sheetrock walls, and once painted, are truly invisible. Yet they are optimized to play through the wall with a sound that will likely surprise you.
Also consider new, think profile flat panel speakers that mount on-wall as another way to reduce room clutter.
Now you see it, now you don’t. If you love to watch your flat panel display when it’s on, but don’t necessarily want to look at it when it’s off, there are great options available to conceal the TV when not in use.
Custom cabinets with motorized lifts will allow flat panels to remain hidden until you need them - rising up only when you activate your system.
Even more popular are art frames that cover your flat panel system with beautifully framed stock or custom artwork. When you turn your system on, the artwork vanishes to reveal your display.
Mirror don’t lie, but the ones Talk of the Town offers are pretty deceptive. Decorative mirrors of all shapes and sizes, including custom designs and optionally integrated illumination can suddenly come to life with your favorite video or TV source at the touch of a button.

Hide and don’t seek. It’s a common misconception that the a/v equipment and the rooms they serve have to go hand in hand. In fact, with proper planning, much of the equipment for a room or entire home can be nestled away in a remote closet or basement location, giving your living spaces more room for, well, living.
